California’s official 2026 primary voter guide, mailed statewide the week of April 20, carried a gubernatorial candidate’s statement calling non-Jews “goyim (less than human animals/cattle)” whom Jews “will enslave.” The same statement said Israeli “art students” brought down the Twin Towers and that Israel killed Charlie Kirk, and it linked to the Goyim Defense League. California law requires candidate statements to be printed largely without content review.
Every other item in this half-year had to find an audience. This one was addressed and delivered by the state, at public expense, to voters who didn't go looking for it.
The law that produced it isn't a loophole. It's a deliberate rule against a government editing candidate speech, and it's a reasonable rule with an outcome nobody designing it wanted. Both things are true and the second doesn't cancel the first.
